Happy Birthday, Molly’s Letter!

My new Tea Rose story is released today (here’s how to get it)!

Molly’s Letter is here, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to share it with you!! It’s the first installment in my Rose Petals project: a series of novella-length stories set in the world of the Rose books and drawn from the lives of their characters. Molly’s Letter is the first of what I expect to be many stories set within and around The Tea Rose, The Winter Rose, and The Wild Rose.

I am LOVING writing these characters again! I didn’t realize how much I missed them — the last few months have been like catching up with dear old friends.

Molly’s Letter follows Fiona, Nick, Fiona’s Uncle Michael and her friend Mary Munro as they struggle to find love amongst the ashes of a tragic past. All four have lost their first, true loves — yet they manage to cobble together a family, happiness, and maybe even love again (though I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll stop here!)

Molly’s Letter is available pretty much anywhere you buy books — in any format (ebook, paperback, hardcover). But I’m publishing it myself without a big publisher sending out thousands of copies — so if you want to get it at your local bookstore, you may have to ask them to order it for you.

But before I get to the retail outlets, I have ordered a few cases so I can send signed copies directly to you! To get your signed paperback or hardcover, you may order it right from my website shop — there’s no markup for the signed copy, and I would be happy to personalize it to you or The Tea Rose reader in your life (just make sure you indicate to whom you’d like me to inscribe it in the “Order Notes” section of the checkout page).

Here’s where you can order Molly’s Letter right now:

  • Hardcover ($19.99) or Paperback ($9.99): Amazon.com, BN.com, IndieBound, JenniferDonnelly.com (signed copy), or your local bookstore (if they don’t have it in stock, they can order it through Ingram, the distributor who supplies most bookstores).
  • Ebook ($3.99): Amazon.com and BN.com — we’re looking into adding other platforms (e.g., Kobo, Apple and Google) soon.
  • Non-U.S. Orders: Molly’s Letter should be available on the various Amazon sites around the world, and Ingram (the bookstore distributor) supplies worldwide, so your local bookstore should be able to order it for you. You are of course welcome to order a signed copy from JenniferDonnelly.com — I can ship just about anywhere — but shipping from the U.S. to any other country (including Canada!) is VERY expensive, I’m sorry to say.

I mentioned that I’m independently publishing Molly’s Letter, as it and the other Rose Petals stories don’t really fit the traditional publishing mold. I have started a little publishing company called Wild Rumpus to do it — and whew! It has been quite the experience!

I’ll save the gory details for another time, but I will share one funny story: we broke Amazon! Their classification algorithm can’t quite deal with a new book that’s a part of an existing three-book series storyline, but isn’t a fourth book in the series. (Molly’s Letter is not the Tea Rose #4 — it’s a story that fits within Tea Rose #1). So what do they do? They call it a boxed set!! 🙄 We’ve been begging them to fix it for the past ten days, but so far, no luck!

Anyway, I have said this before, but Molly’s Letter is from my heart to you, my beloved Tea Rose readers. Over many years, your notes and emails and posts about the Rose books and what they mean to you sustained me through some very challenging times. You believed in me when I needed it the most!

I’ll never forget that, and I can’t wait to write a whole bouquet of Rose Petals for you.
